Shirish Kulkarni
Founder & Director
I’m a journalist, researcher and community organizer and have worked in the industry for more than 25 years. During that time, my life and career have been harmed by systemic discrimination. I’ve also seen how the impacts of discrimination ripple out from journalism into society.
I started Inclusive Journalism Cymru in the hope that those who come after us don’t have to fight all the same battles again. I want a more representative journalism industry and a fairer society.
Siriol Griffiths
Director
I’ve been a journalist for almost 25 years and have worked for a range of outlets in broadcast and print. I’m currently Wales editor at The Conversation.
The journalism industry is not representative of our society, which is why I joined Inclusive Journalism Cymru. I want to see more done to attract, accommodate and retain autistic and other neurodivergent people in the industry.
Damian Kerlin
Director
I’m a Cardiff-based LGBTQ+ journalist, publicist, broadcaster and content creator. My passion is providing opportunities to pass the mic to those whose voices are struggling to be heard,
I also think it’s important to provide safe spaces for shared experiences and collective learning to influence a more inclusive and fair industry. That’s what Inclusive Journalism Cymru was set up to achieve.
Emily Price
Director
I’m an award-winning journalist and news editor from the south Wales valleys. I wanted to be a part of Inclusive Journalism Cymru after finding the industry was unfairly tricky to navigate for people from marginalised groups or identities.
I graduated from the University of South Wales with a First Class Honours degree in Journalism later in life, after deciding not to let my deprived background or disability hold me back any longer.
