Showcase Celebration

Join us to celebrate the publication of Kayley Roberts’ creative essay commissioned as part of our ‘Understanding Our Past to Know Our Present’ project, in partnership with the Wales Broadcast Archive. In their piece, ‘Adroddiad o Chwarel Ithfaen ym Mhenmaenmawr a Phroblemau Llwch i Dai Cyfagos’ Kayley employs fictional realism to delve into themes inspired by historical footage of quarrying communities from the archive.

• A live reading showcasing from Kayley Roberts’s creative piece considering class, health and history – taking inspiration from historical clips of local quarries from the Wales Broadcast Archive
• A collage workshop using (copies of) archival newspapers with Llinos Annwyl
• A panel discussion considering the media and publishing landscape – with journalist Shirish Kulkarni, Mirain Owen (Cymdeithas yr Iaith) Wil Gritten (Dref Werdd) the authour Iola Ynyr and facilitated by Heledd Williams
• A brief introduction to Inclusive Journalism Cymru and an opportunity to feed into our future plans 
• Free lunch and refreshments
  

Note, this event will be carried out in the medium of Welsh. There will be a live translation service for those who need it.
